| NEWSLETTER 4. DECEMBER 2025 |
| | FOREWORD
Welcome to the information letter prepared by the Horizon Europe PROSPECTS 5.0 project. The main goal of PROSPECTS 5.0 is to accelerate the transition to Industry 5.0 by enhancing the uptake of Industry 5.0 principles and practices by companies, local innovation ecosystems, SMEs/start-ups/scale-ups and industrial sectors. As we step into 2026, the final year of the PROSPECTS 5.0 project, we are excited to share key developments and what lies ahead. With two productive years behind us, the project is entering a decisive phase — one that will see the launch of our final deliverables, including the release of the PROSPECTS 5.0 Platform, dedicated training modules and webinars, and insightful assessment reports based on our use cases. This year will also be marked by a unique spring event, the Spring of Industry 5.0, designed to bring together our community in a hands-on format to explore progress, challenges, and opportunities. As always, we continue to support a growing ecosystem of companies, policy makers, researchers, and innovation enablers on their journey toward Industry 5.0 adoption. We hope this newsletter keeps you informed, engaged, and inspired — and that you’ll join us for the impactful milestones ahead. |
| | | | This section recaps the most important news from June through December 2025. Explore how Industry 5.0 is moving from concept to implementation through new tools, collaborative workshops, and real-world use cases. |
| | From framework to practice: PROSPECTS 5.0 rolls out Industry 5.0 assessment workshops |
| How can companies measure their transition towards Industry 5.0? The PROSPECTS 5.0 project is working on the way. Earlier this year, PROSPECTS 5.0 delivered a key milestone: the Industry 5.0 Assessment Framework (I5.AF) — a co-created, KPI-based methodology that helps organisations measure their progress across three pillars of Industry 5.0: resilience, sustainability, and human-centricity. The I5.AF, co-developed and validated through a multi-stakeholder process (including companies, research organisations, and members of the Industry 5.0 Community of Interest, such as Digital Innovation Hubs, etc.), is designed to be practical, adaptable, and aligned with real-world needs. Now, the project is moving from theory to application by conducting a series of structured validation workshops with 14 industrial use cases across Europe. The goal: test the I5.AF in real-life settings, refine the scoring mechanisms, and explore how companies can use the framework to guide decision-making and strategic transformation. |
| In each session, use case providers are invited to reflect on their current practices, score their performance using I5.AF indicators, and discuss areas of strength and improvement. These exchanges help identify what Industry 5.0 means in practice, and how it varies across sectors — from manufacturing and automotive to digital services and energy. By combining a solid methodological base with hands-on validation, PROSPECTS 5.0 is building an evidence-driven foundation for Industry 5.0 transformation in Europe. |

| The second PROSPECTS 5.0 Patent Analysis is offering an updated overview of innovation trends in key Industry 5.0 domains, including digitalisation, automation technologies and readiness analysis tools. The report examines leading patent holders, filing strategies and geographic patterns, with a particular focus on developments from 2022–2025. It also provides a refined and more targeted methodology compared to the first analysis, enabling clearer insights into patents directly related to manufacturing activities. |
