Workshop Recap: Mutual Learning in Action – Progress, Challenges and Future Vision for Industry 5.0

Following the first workshop on barriers to Industry 5.0 implementation, the second mutual learning session within the PROSPECTS 5.0 project shifted focus to practical progress, shared learning, and long-term vision. The event provided use case providers with a platform to reflect on their journeys and exchange experiences. The workshop ws held on May 8, 2025 in Mirandola, Italy.
The session was opened with two presentations from project use cases: Teknorot, a leading automotive manufacturer from Turkey, and Knowit, an IT consultancy from Norway. These examples illustrated distinct approaches to Industry 5.0 – one grounded in structured industrial KPIs, the other centred on human capital and service-driven innovation.
20 participants representing PROSPECTS 5.0 use cases and use-case facilitators then engaged in group discussions exploring two key questions: their current development in Industry 5.0 and their plans beyond the project. Common themes included a growing focus on human-centricity, the use of the Industry 5.0 Assessment Framework as a strategic tool, and diverse implementation scopes depending on company maturity and structure.
Looking ahead, companies plan to integrate KPIs into long-term planning, increase automation, and invest in training and inclusive organisational practices. Despite ongoing challenges such as limited resources and internal complexity, their commitment to aligning innovation with human and societal values remains strong.
Despite differences in maturity, all participants aim to embed Industry 5.0 into their broader transformation strategies. Key challenges remain, particularly around cultural resistance and organizational complexity, but the overall direction is clear: flexible, human-driven innovation is the way forward.
We thank all participants for their contributions and look forward to upcoming achievements!
