Workshop Recap: “Industry 5.0 in Action – Business Experiences & Expert Insights”

On March 19, 2025, the PROSPECTS 5.0 project successfully hosted its first online workshop titled “Industry 5.0 in Action: Business Experiences & Expert Insights.” Coordinated by TECNALIA, the event aimed to foster cross-sectoral dialogue and knowledge sharing around practical implementation of Industry 5.0.
The workshop gathered 35 participants from over 10 European countries, representing research institutes, SMEs, large companies, universities, and innovation support networks. This diversity brought rich perspectives to the discussion of real-world Industry 5.0 adoption.
Highlights from the Session
The session featured presentations from five use-case companies from the PROSPECTS 5.0 project:
- GTW Bearings (Czechia) – Bearing manufacturing
- TRYGONS (Greece) – Composite parts for marine & automotive
- CAMELEO (Poland) – Custom decorative coatings
- S-Gard (Germany) – Safety gear manufacturing
- ZEUKO (Spain) – Cranes, lifting systems and heavy equipment
Each shared their unique approaches, challenges, and successes in applying Industry 5.0 principles to real-world business scenarios — from smart materials and worker-assistive technologies to sustainable industrial operations.
Additionally, external stakeholders from EIT Manufacturing and DIHNAMO – EDIH shared their insights on supporting industrial transformation and innovation through ecosystem engagement and capacity building.
Mutual Learning in Practice
The second half of the workshop was dedicated to an open, moderated exchange where participants engaged in a dynamic discussion around challenges and solutions for Industry 5.0 implementation. This interactive segment enabled knowledge transfer across sectors and regions, reinforcing the value of community-driven innovation in the Industry 5.0 landscape.
Feedback and What’s Next
Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to exchange real-world experiences and connect with peers working on similar challenges. Feedback emphasized the value of hearing directly from companies at different stages of Industry 5.0 adoption and highlighted the usefulness of expert contributions from the broader innovation ecosystem.
This workshop is the first in a series that will continue throughout the project. Future sessions will build on this foundation, deepening the conversation around implementation challenges, success factors, and practical solutions.
We thank all participants for their contributions and look forward to continuing the dialogue in the second workshop later this year.
Stay tuned for upcoming workshops and further opportunities to engage with the Industry 5.0 community across Europe!
