FOREWORD
Welcome to the first information letter prepared by the Horizon Europe PROSPECTS 5.0 project. The main goal of PROSPECTS 5.0 is to accelerate the transition to Industry 5.0 by enhancing the uptake of Industry 5.0 principles and practices by companies, local innovation ecosystems, SMEs/start-ups/scale-ups and industrial sectors. The aim of our regular newsletters is to update about the project progress, raise awareness about the benefits and opportunities of Industry 5.0, inform about relevant opportunities, announce project and external events, workshops, trainings, disseminate useful resources, as well as project outcomes. Hope you will find this information relevant and useful for your business or research and help increasing your understanding of Industry 5.0 paradigm. |
PROSPECTS 5.0 plans to provide practical guidance, tools, and solutions for industry stakeholders to remove the barriers for industry to opt into the Industry 5.0 transition. Project activities are based on real-world examples, namely 14 use-cases from different countries and 6 different industry sectors: manufacturing, IT service, education, energy, aviation and automotive. The selected industrial sectors are significant drivers for the adoption of Industry 5.0 and are crucial to the European economy. PROSPECTS 5.0 is designed to create a significant and meaningful impact in the short, medium, and long term, benefiting a wide range of stakeholders: the project is expected to become a reference point for future research on Industry 5.0 and for the development of new EU roadmaps and policies. |

Industry 5.0 is an emerging paradigm for a future-proof industry that goes beyond efficiency and productivity by restoring and regenerating planetary resources, providing the European Union with economic, social and material stability Industry 5.0. |
INDUSTRY 5.0 IS BASED ON 3 PILLARS |
| | Industry is understood in the widest sense as human activity to produce or supply goods, services, or sources of income. |
| | | Industry as powerful lever to help the planet leaves no one behind and actively contributes to wellbeing and planetary regeneration. |
| | | The “from efficiency to resilience” shift is the essence of Industry 5.0 and can bridge the gap in building a positive link between society and industry. |

PROSPECTS 5.0 STAKEHOLDER COMMUNITY |
Industry 5.0 Community of Interest (I5.C) is organised by the PROSPECTS 5.0 project to share experience, provide feedback on current practices and studies, participate in co-creation and validation of project outcomes, and establish links with like-minded peers. It involves project use case provider companies, EDIHs, DIH, representatives of EU working groups, projects covering Industry 5.0 concepts, EU associations and R&D centers. Currently I5.C gathers 33 members representing different types of stakeholders from 14 countries. |

1ST STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT EVENT |
| On 29th of May 2024 we officially held PROSPECTS 5.0 1st Stakeholder Engagement event. The event titled ‘Towards Industry 5.0 – a Need for Change: Theory vs. Practice’ brought together partners of Prospects 5.0, use case providers, members of the project Advisory Board, representatives from the European Commission’s DG RTD, and other EU-funded projects focusing on similar topics. The full-day offline event included a plenary session, panel discussion, and interactive breakout sessions focused on the pillars of Industry 5.0 — sustainability, resiliency, and human-centricity. This event was a perfect opportunity to discuss the current frameworks and methodologies linked to the Industry 5.0 paradigm and to establish future cooperation. |

The Industry 5.0 Community of Practice was officially launched on 16 November 2023. It brings together a broad range of European innovation ecosystem stakeholders to share good practices, co-create actions to implement Industry 5.0 and provide a platform for members to network and establish new collaborations. It helps create a value proposition for stakeholders at the local, regional, national, and European levels to promote and apply Industry 5.0 principles and practices. It facilitates an opportunity for stakeholders to foster synergies and receive support in the ongoing process of green and digital transitions with a focus on human-centricity, sustainability and resilience.
The EU Commission’s INDUSTRY 5.0 COMMUNITY OF PRACTIVE is now open for new members! |
