PROSPECTS 5.0 at European Researchers’ Night 2026

PROSPECTS 5.0 at European Researchers’ Night 2026

October 1, 2026

On 25 September 2026, PROSPECTS 5.0 was presented at the European Researchers’ Night organised by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE). The event took place at Reggiane Parco Innovazione – Tecnopolo in Reggio Emilia, where researchers welcomed the general public for an evening dedicated to science, technology and innovation.

As part of the event, the ICOOR group demonstrated how mathematical modelling and scientific research can be transformed into practical, sustainable and efficient solutions for society. Its programme brought together several Horizon Europe projects addressing current challenges in mobility, industry and logistics, including PROSPECTS 5.0.

The PROSPECTS 5.0 presentation introduced visitors to the project’s work towards a more human-centric, environmentally sustainable and resilient European industry. The project supports European SMEs, start-ups and scale-ups in adopting the principles of Industry 5.0.

Drawing on 14 real-world use cases from EU countries, Norway and Türkiye, PROSPECTS 5.0 covers six key sectors: manufacturing, IT services, energy, automotive, aviation and education. The project develops practical resources, including guidelines, the Industry 5.0 Wiki, the Assessment Platform and measurement tools. These resources are designed to support skills development, encourage the adoption of the Industry 5.0 paradigm and contribute to the evolution of European industrial policy.

Within the project, UNIMORE was responsible for the co-creation of the Industry 5.0 Assessment Framework, a methodology that enables organisations to evaluate their level of maturity in relation to the three pillars of the Industry 5.0 paradigm.

The project was presented by Giulia Renzi, Gloria Giammei, Anna Chiara Venturini and Matteo Magnani from the DISMI team led by Mauro Dell’Amico. Their participation offered an opportunity to bring the work of PROSPECTS 5.0 closer to the wider public and demonstrate how European research can support practical industrial transformation.
